This is a short story based on a stock photo of a girl in a leotard doing a backflip.

Her heart pounding, she twisted through the air. Her arms outstretched, the gymnast reached out, fingertips barely brushing the smooth wooden boards as she flew across the bar, dominating the judges' view. All eyes were upon her as her feet finally brushed the wooden bar and stopped at the very end of it. The crowd was hushed, and she had a very sudden feeling of waking up, like being shaken from a daydream, only to find that it was no dream. She'd single-handedly done a flawless triple-backflip, and everyone had seen it. The crowd began to scream and then cheer out loud, as even the stone-faced judges began to smile and cheer. The gymnast's heart shaken, she stood there, a second longer than she ought to have, just taking it all in.
