swimming in darkness
caged bars, trap me in
throwing
away
the key
the shining gold metal flits away
and along with it,
goes my hope
why cant i escape from this prison?
god forbid this be my fate
as i watch my hope fly away
burdened by heavy wings
a glimmer on the horizon
a speck of something
whether it be hope,
the passion for what is possible
or something much more sinister,
my heart leaps five beats
and suddenly
im in the eye of the hurricane
i start to run
slip between these bars
i have to catch up to that star
my task is set
now all i have to do is
make my challenge met
