Chapter One: Not Your Typical Fairytale, or Maybe It Is. Who Cares?[]

Once upon a time, there was a lovely princess. But he had an enchantment upon him of a fearful sort which could only be broken by love’s first… Nah. Ramen. It could only be broken by ramen.

The princess was locked away in a castle and guarded by a monstrous goat. Many stupid knights tried to free him, but none could succeed, for the goat was too powerful. At the mercy of the goat’s fearsome magic, the princess waited in the highest room of the tallest tower for his ramen.

“Hehehehe,” Ikumatsu said as she tore the page out of the book. “Like that’s ever gonna happen.”

It did.

But not in the way anyone would have-

Actually, let’s be real here. You were expecting this. This opens with Ikumatsu’s point of view. Of COURSE she’s going to be the one to bring the princess the ramen. Why would we waste time on her otherwise?

But it sounds poetic to say no one would have expected this, so BE SILENT. You expected nothing.

Well, there was something.

A short, unpleasant something with a weird hat.

Something named Lord Farquaad.
