Coastal Gusts[]

Jock had been sent on to an assignment from the Small Controller to pick up parts for Frank, upon the fog as the coastal lines of Sodor had thickened throughout the day. The rest of the engines, the Blister brothers, and the Sigrid of Arlesdale were visiting their brothers and sisters on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway in England. It was only Jock and Frank left to manage while they had fun.

"Well, I'll be fogged up more," grumbled Jock as he tried but failed to see the coast from both the Arlesdale line and the Little Western, "this fog is getting worse. Kinda envying the rest, but at least they're having fun." "Aye, i'tis a great shame for this we'ther we're in," responded Douglas, "bu' cheer up, they could be home so'n." "Gotta make up for it, then", chuffed Jock as he went to collect Frank's parts.

After collecting the parts from the depot, Jock felt a bit of a shiver. "Woooooooo," he colded, "what was that?" "Could've been the fog," said his driver, "and trust me, it's getting cold now." Jock started to move, albeit a bit slower as the temperature dropped significantly. "Come on, come on," determined the little engine, getting close to the shed. But the fog grew worse to the point where he and his driver can't see. "What is this," startled Jock, until his front wheels dangle from the turntable. His driver stopped in time, and slowly but surely, reversed him back on the rails.

"It's best we should stop here until the fog clears down," said his driver. "Sorry Frank," apologized Jock, "this fog is a pain to us as your parts need you as well." "No worries," said Frank in the distance, "those parts, if I remember, were donations from Perkins herself. It's another way of gracefulness if you ask me." "Spare me the sarcasm", scoffed Jock as Frank laughed. "It really isn't, Jock," replied Frank, "she's just lending me those parts as she's getting new parts from her manufacturers at Muir-Hill." "What a kind sister," said the Small Controller, as the engines continued to talk until the fog died away.
