What's on your mind?
Hi, and welcome to my TED Talk.
Every now and then, I see people talking about their childhood favorite shows. Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, the list goes on.
Now when I was younger, I had never seen any of those shows. Granted, I did know of them, but I didn't want to watch Sailor Moon because I thought it was too weird and old-timey, and I didn't watch Yu-Gi-Oh because even little-kid me thought the art was really strange.
Believe it or not, the favorite shows I saw were no classics. In fact, I doubt any of you have seen them.
First and foremost: Beakman's World. I absolutley LOVED Beakman's World. It's actually a science show, but little-kid me still thought it was the coolest thing ever. My favorite part was when the penguins watching the show would talk together, and it was altogether the best thing ever.
Second: DinoTrux. Looking back, the plot is subpar, and the voices are really odd, but nonetheless I loved it. There's nothing else I can say.
Finally, the show that was an absolue classic to me, the show that totally copied Pokemon but was still just as good: Dinosaur King!
I honestly loved this show to bits. It follows the tale of three young prtagonists and a group of weird and unsuccessful villains as they battle it out with their dinosaurs, which are stored in...small cards.
Maybe this show plagarized a bit more than I thought.
I still loved it.
Anyway, that's all folks, and I hope you enjoyed my TED Talk

I have been writing this story. Some backstory: It's a comic about a society with heroes and villains, where everyone has superpowers. Being a hero is a job, and what you do is you capture villains from a list and turn them in to the authorities. This one kid, Kai, finally gets a job as a superhero and realizes that the heroes are actually just glorified hitmen. Instead of turning villains in to the authorities, they're kidnapping people for anyone who pays enough money. Having realized this, Kai quits his job and starts trying to take down the heroes and stop them from hurting people, just as someone decides to put a bounty on Kai himself.
The issue is, I've already talked about the story, at length, online, before I've published it on webtoons.com. And now I'm really wanting to make some *major* changes to the story. In case it helps, the plot would go something like this:
It's a comic about a lawless society with a sort of "Wild West but it's an anime set the future and in Tokyo(weird but I think it's cool)" aesthetic where everyone has powerful abilities that have weird drawbacks. The main character, Kai, has the power to create and control fire, with the downside that the more fire he creates and/or controls, the more tired he gets, the reason being that the fire is actually created using his own energy. So if he were to use a lot of power, he'd automatically pass out, and if he used his full force he'd probably go into a coma. So one day, he gets into a fight with a guy on the street, and after what was supposed to just be a little argument turns into a full-blown battle. The fight ends up unresolved because both sides suffer from their drawbacks and are unable to finish the fight. Later, Kai learns that the repercussions of messing with strangers are greater than he assumed and that he's now aroused the anger of the yakuza. After multiple attempted assassinations, Kai begins to suspect that there's some other reason that the mob is after him.
I'm not going any further into detail seeing as maybe one of you will read this at some point, but I'm also planning on changing the comic's name to something else, for plot reasons
So here's my question: Even though I've already said I'd do one thing, I really like this new idea and I think it's a lot more original as the first version was basically a Stain origin story. Besides, I only have five followers who actually read my posts about the comic (originally called Blood Hero). My only hesitation is that I already advertised and posted and talked about it with friends and it seems lazy to just quit now after everything I've put into this.
